What is tested?
This panel measures 7 blood values:

What can this test tell you?
The results show how your lipid profile, your inflammation value and your thyroid function compare to the reference ranges. The combination is especially informative: a normal LDL with a high ApoB means something different than both being elevated.

How is the sample collected?
For this blood test, a staff member draws a small tube of blood at a certified location. You can choose from 700+ collection sites, so there is almost always a location near you.
You only need your appointment confirmation and a valid ID. The draw usually takes just a few minutes.

Preparation
For your triglycerides, fasting is advisable: do not eat for 10 to 12 hours before the draw and drink only water. Your cholesterol and ApoB are less sensitive to food, but fasting makes results most comparable.
Drink enough water on the day of the draw. If in doubt, discuss your situation with your GP.
What happens after the results?

Apolipoprotein B (ApoB) is the main protein on LDL and other atherogenic lipoproteins. Each atherogenic particle carries exactly one ApoB molecule, making it a precise measure of the total number of particles that can contribute to plaque formation.

Cholesterol/HDL Ratio
The cholesterol/HDL ratio is your total cholesterol divided by your HDL. Exercise tends to raise HDL, which lowers the ratio. A lower ratio points to a more favourable profile and a lower cardiovascular risk.
ESR (Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate)
Your ESR shows how quickly red blood cells settle towards the bottom of an upright tube. The lab reads that column after one hour. Without inflammation the cells drift down slowly. Inflammation raises certain proteins in the blood, and those proteins stick the cells together. The red cells then fall faster. So the ESR measures a consequence, not the inflammation itself. And it does so slowly. That makes it the wrong value for tracking training load, however much you might want otherwise.
Free T3 (Triiodothyronine)
Free T3 is considered the most active thyroid hormone and may be important for physical performance, metabolic efficiency, and recovery. Some sports medicine providers suggest that optimal T3 levels can support training adaptations and energy availability.
